A Coach’s Work
Off the Field
Working with our ballplayers is the favorite part of the game for most of us, but there is off-the-field work to be done as well.
From practice plans and lineups to parent meetings and fundraising, there’s plenty to be done during your off the field time. Here are some things to consider based on our years of coaching young ballplayers.
Have you thought about forming a travel team? We’ve got some words of experience to share there as well.
⚾ Preparing to Coach
Community coaching, teaching, practices from start to finish: prep, time use, facility use, communication, adjustments, and practice outlines
⚾ Manage a Winning Staff
Build a winning staff, complementing strengths, priorities, certification and background checks, communications, staff meetings, life balance.
⚾ Fundraising
Why fundraise? Your focus, putting procedures in place, setting up committees and handling money, pro and cons with Booster Clubs.
⚾ Travel Baseball Team
Considerations, organizational meetings, hiring a coach & assistants, tryouts/invitation, fees and fundraisers, play time, conflicts.
